Restless Earth
We are connected
to other living species through our genetic code which goes back to
the first stirrings of life. Humankind is only one branch of the vast
diversity of species that evolved from the first bacteria on the
restless Earth. These statements underpin the message in my artworks. The surface
texture and form of my sculptures refer to the geological timescales
and the evolution of species. Morphed figures represent the link
between all living species through physical similarities and common
origins. Below is a sample of some of the works from my exhibition, Restless
Earth with Ivana Gattegno at Spiral Gallery, Bega, New South Wales from
16th March until 4th April 2018.
