About me
Nature has always been a great source of wonder, curiosity, pleasure and artistic inspiration for me. My sculptures are about the connection between animals and their environment as well as human impact on the ecosystem with emphasis on conservation. Living on the Far South Coast of New South Wales surrounded by sea, lakes, forest and unique wildlife has been a constant inspiration for my artwork.
The sculptures are hollow hand-built forms made with well-grogged clay and decorated with textures and relief images often using found objects. The work is then glazed with oxides, engobes and glazes and fired in an electric kiln to mid-fire temperatures making them suitable for outdoor conditions. I have also experimented with Raku, Pit-firing and wood firing techniques
