Family

With family spread out across Australia, travelling to see them all is an opportunity to go exploring on a road trip. This trip in May 2014 covered 2200 kilometres and included the largest flattest area in this country, the dry inland of the Hay Plains, then on through country where fossil remains of ancient Diprotodons have been unearthed near Tambar Springs and finally ending up on the tropical eastern coast in the Northern Rivers district of New South Wales where Bangalow palms and Brush Turkeys live.

A Walk in a Watercolour

These artworks illustrate viewpoints and my observations rather than recording literal images. Up and Down is a watercolour painting done during a walk around Mt Ainslie, Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory. Cape Conran Cabin highlights memories of my experiences of a week in a coastal retreat.

Diary Entries

When travelling I often record the places I have been with descriptions of weather, geology and other notes or sketches on natural phenomena. The following are examples of diary entries from trips to parts of Australia.
