Post Bushfires

Joy Georgeson Water sculpture

During a horrific summer in Australia, the bushfires destroyed my original ceramic studio at 'Volplana' Rocky Hall in south eastern Australia. The studio was established in 1982 with the help of a grant from the Australia Council. The surrounding bush and animals have been an inspiration for my work for over 40 years. These sculptures are some of the pieces that survived the firestorm on February 1st after the worst drought recorded there and unprecedented conditions. Some hope was evident after a flood that followed one week later with lyrebirds, kookaburras and frogs calling in the blackened landscape.
