Safety Zones

National Parks in Australia have become havens for threatened animal species with the creation of safety zones. Areas that have been allocated for protection of species include the Sturt National Park NSW where the rare Crest-tailed Kowari was released this year and Nungatta National Park NSW will have a 2000 hectare exclusion zone where locally extinct animals such as the Long-footed Potoroo, Eastern Quoll and Smoky Mouse will be reintroduced.
