Creatures

 

 Bowerbird in the Bush H58cm ceramic 2025 

A fleeting glimpse of a female Bowerbird that seemed to fly from burnt wood in the regenerating forest inspired this work in the 'Creatures' exhibition at Spiral Gallery Bega February 13th to March 11th 2026. The show was held with two far south coast artists Ivana Gattegno a painter and sculptor Anneke Paijmans. The common link between us was curiosity, passion and respect for nature. These thoughts are summarised in a quote by David Attenborough used to describe the show; 

"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much life that makes life worth living."
